The K-9 unit is comprised of two canine teams, which support various Law Enforcement as well as Correctional Facility functions. The teams are utilized for Routine Patrol, Tracking, Building Searches, Crowd Control, Protection and Drug Detection.

K-9 ANNIE

K-9 Annie is a six year old Chocolate Labrador Retriever assigned to the Patrol Station in Voorheesville, New York. K-9 Annie is certified in Advanced Police Narcotics Detection and Police Tracking by the State of New York Division of Criminal Justice Services Municipal Police Training Council.

K-9 Annie trains hard to maintain her certification, training eight hours a month each in Narcotics Detection and Tracking. Every three years Annie must under go an extensive re-certification process.
