The Inspection Unit, assists in establishing rules, regulations, polices and
procedures in order to direct and control the means by which services of the
Department are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner to the residents
of Albany County. This is accomplished through various methods including inspecting,
analyzing and reviewing methods and procedures of the activities of the Sheriff’s
Department and preforming spot audits of the various units within Department
to assure compliance with Department policy and procedures. The Inspections
Unit also works to identify problems and make recommendations regarding the
use of manpower, supervision and materials.
The Inspection Unit also works closely with the Accreditation Unit insuring
compliance with minmum standards setforth in that program. For more information
