It is the intention of the Office of the Fire Coordinator to afford fire and related emergency services protection to the residents of Albany County by aiding and assisting local fire departments, rescure squads and related emergency service providers with the needed support in the form of training, asset coordination, communications assistance, program planning and to provide expertise and liaison with other municipal entities.

Further, it is the goal of the Office of the Fire Coordinator to provide countywide coordination of specailized programs on arson, hazardous materials, public education, fire prevention, firefighter recruitment and other releevant programs, and to affect needed legislation when required.
