The Civil Division of the Albany County Sheriff's Department is comprised
of both law enforcement and civilian staff. The six law enforcement members
are primarily responsible for the enforcement of evictions and service
of civil process. Law enforcement members are also responsible for the
execution of family court warrants.
The ten member civilian staff are responsible for entering the civil
process into the civil computer system. The civil division receives over
1,000 eviction and over 10,000 civil processes a year. Both law enforcement
and civilian staff work hand in hand to accomplish these goals.
